Kodachadri

Moola Mukambika Goddess initially seemed here in Kodachadri after a long contemplation by Shankaracharya. He had wanted to take the Goddess to Kerala, Goddess consented to it and asked Shankaracharya to stroll through the bush towards Kerala so She can take after Him, with a condition as per which, Her sanctuary should be manufactured the at the spot where Shankaracharya turns around. This happened at Kollur.
